John Markoff: LSD to PCs
![]() |
There is a great article in the Metro about a book I plan to pick up. I really love Silicon Valley and I love the computer culture. I was always fascinated when I was a kid about the area and now I have been lucky enough to live here and work here. I still always laugh when in the movie “War Games when Matthew Broderick asked to have the prefix codes for a software company in Sunnyvale, CA. I digress, the book called What the Dormouse Said: How the 60s Counterculture Shaped the Personal Computer Industry gives insight into the culture that started the revolution. It has flavors of all the things that I love. I am a scholar the 60′s counter culture (Ken Kesey and the Merry Pranksters, the beat poets, etc.) and the computer revolution. To me this is the perfect book. I will post a review of it when I get it and read it. |
