Thoughts on UMPC and Small Laptops, just get a MacBook

Lately, I have been seeing a lot of reviews and what not on small laptops. These laptops are very small, usually 7″ screens with unusable or no keyboard at all. I used to use a Samsung Q1 UMPC, with a cool factor of 10, it was awesome and got a lot of looks when I first got. I used to use it at Starbucks and people would ask me all the time “Wow, is that your computer?”. That was all well and good and then I purchased my black MacBook. Now, how small is too small. The MacBook to me is the perfect laptop. It has a great keyboard, a great screen, great battery life, it is light and gets the job done. I see all of the people going out and buying these expensive Table PC’s, UMPC’s and other gadgets wondering why they have not looked at the MacBook. They can even install Windows (I don’t know why) on it if they care too. The main difference is that it is completely useable, I can do all my work on the machine. I don’t have to strain my eyes or loose my muscle memory for my keystroke. It is a great machine and is a full machine. It is very basic and doesn’t try to jam as many features as it can into the externals of the box. There are no magic buttons and there is no hassle. It is a great machine, durable and efficient. I have had it a year now and I have no need to upgrade yet. I am just going to upgrade the hard drive to something bigger and I will set for another year.
