I am sitting here with Davey at Mashup Camp in Mountain View and it is very eye opening. There is the beginnings of the next renaissance brewing here. I have been sitting through the demos and it is amazing. The future of Web 2.0 (really don’t like the name, Davey likes “New Wave”) is pretty sophisticated and savvy. There are a series of products that will bring the next age to the forefront and others that will wither and die. All the ideas are exciting and the energy is exhilarating. I believe that I have a feeling that I have not felt in a long time. I have been looking for this, it has been a dark time in the valley and has never really gone away. It has just been squelched by the feelings that permeated the valley after the fall. I feel that a rebirth is about to take place and it is the end of the 7 year cycle. While I was there I thought about Feed Lounge. Alex and Scott’s business model. They are the ideal and future business model. The 300 people chosen to attend this event are the best and future for web applications. These are the people who will spark the next revolution in the world and it will be a very exciting time. Time for engineers and investors to peak out there heads and scream to the world, Viva la renaissance.
