Lost in Aimee Mann

Aimee Mann   Carolyn and I went to see Aimee Mann last night at the Mountain Winery in Saratoga, CA. She is just the most amazing performer. I was complete in awe of her show. Her band was great. She had grace and humor. I was inamored by her, captivated by her. It was one of the few times where the experience was not just the usual get up and play some songs and listen. She enveloped her audience and made understand, or try to understand, what she was try to say. She was the Muse. Well, enough about that we can just say I loved the show. If you ever get a chance to see her, please do she is great.

P.S. On the Geek notes side, Steve “WOZ” Wozinak was there last night. He was driving around on his Segway Human Transport and playing his Game Boy during the opening act. Pretty funny stuff….

I love the japanese

Japanese Gov   All I have to say is that I love Japanese Politics. Could you imagine if the American Government conducted business like this… I think I would be more involved. I think you could get more of middle America involved in our Government. I would replace the WWE as the favorite show on tv in most of middle America(I am trying to be kind, my brother works for the WWE). C-SPAN’s ratings would go through the roof, screw ESPN… We have got live fights to night, LIVE from the Capital.

QA Methods

I have been involved in a QA effort at work to implement our new CRM solution to our CSRs. All I can say is that at my company the QA team beleives that there effort ends at the lab door. Well, I hate to say it but they are completely clueless. I have been spending the past week implementing a QA method for them to follow, creating test procedures, applying a bug tracking system and creating drafts for daily bug reports. Also they have no idea how to create a baseline for he application. The QA team just said “Install it on all the machines and lets see what happens. We can just have the CSRs report any issues that may occur.” I was a little floored by this. How can you put out a application into production, and untested one at that, onto 375 CSRs machines? Ok, enough bitching, I have to compile data for todays bug report meeting.

Discovery of new chemical element

I just thought this was pretty funny….

(Reuters) - A major research institution has recently announced the discovery of the heaviest chemical element yet known to science. The new element has been tentatively named “Governmentium.” Governmentium has 1 neutron, 12 assistant neutrons, 75 deputy neutrons and 11 assistant deputy neutrons, giving it an atomic mass of 312.
These 312 particles are held together by forces called morons, which are surrounded by vast quantities of lepton-like particles called peons. Since governmentium has no electrons, it is inert. However, it can be detected and it impedes every reaction with which it comes into contact. A minute amount of governmentium causes one reaction to take over 4 days to complete when it would normally take less than a second.
Governmentium has a normal half-life of 3 years; it does not decay, but instead undergoes a reorganization in which a portion of the assistant neutrons and deputy neutrons exchange places. In fact, governmentium’s mass will actually increase over time, since each reorganization will cause some morons to become neutrons, forming isodopes.
This characteristic of moron-promotion leads some scientists to speculate that governmentium is formed whenever morons reach a certain quantity in concentration. This hypothetical quantity is referred to as “Critical Morass.” You will know it when you see it.
