Baltimore

So I am in Baltimore, MD today visiting my brother. We have a great day planned and look forward to hanging out with my Brother and his wife (Colleen). We are going to take a trip into Washington DC and go to some of the great sites there. While we are here we are going to also see Kevin Steele, that should be cool. I talked to him a couple of days ago and he seemed very happy that we were coming to visit. I am so glad to have sometime off from work, I really needed it. I got up early today and I am sitting in the living room at my brothers house very relaxed. I will be taking some pictures while I am here and posting them on the site. I installed alex’s b2photo hack on my site so I can upload and display more photos. I am going to get going but I will be back later. I have been slacking on my blog stuff lately.
Later,
B :)

Gates.. New Hero of Open Source? Not really…

There is an article in Contra Costa Times here.
Bill Gates sat through a demo of Linux with an executive vice president at IBM , Steve Mills, and discussed a 3 year development deal to create a series of cross platform tools. This is really strange.. He just sees the possible money that is involved with his acception of cross platform software. This will allow Microsoft to get on the growing number of Linux servers that are dominating the e-Commerce industry. This is smart business move, but it will take alot of faith in the open source world to accept the wolf in the sheeps clothing. It is going to be a very interesting thing. This is worth watching, seeing one how I am so sick of the SCO thing. I just want it to end.
