Misc Stuff

Really not too much going with me. I have just been working on a Software upgrade path at work and making sure that my little software world is happy and clean. I start my new project next week and it is a big one. I have been improving the linux installation on my laptop. I am currently trying Redhat 9.0, I had FreeBSD 5.1 installed but there were some issues with drivers. I still have image, but I will wait until I have some more time to mess around with it. Like I was saying, I installed Redhat 9.0 and replaced the kernel (2.4.18 to 2.4.22) and it works well. I am currently doing all my web and java development in this environment. I am currently doing this post from it. Well anyway..
So good stuff below:
Exodus of the Geeks by Zbignew Zingh
SCO’s McBride on his open letter to the Linux community
SCO Admits To Not Knowing Own Code History in Recent Q&A
That is it for now…
Later,
B :)
P.S. I really don’t know what I sign my own blog entries, I am the only one who write for it.. I think I will stop after this..

Goodbye Mr. Cash

The Man in Black   Johnny Cash died today at 71 years old. The man was a god among animals. He was an amazing man, I really wish that I could have known him. His music will live on for generations to come. He was not afraid to try something new or cross over into another style of music. His was able to inspire musicians of every type. He was not just a country musician, he was a musicians musician. He will be missed and is now with his one true love June.

Well, there’s things that never will be right I know,
And things need changin’ everywhere you go,
But ’til we start to make a move to make a few things right,
You’ll never see me wear a suit of white.

Ah, I’d love to wear a rainbow every day,
And tell the world that everything’s OK,
But I’ll try to carry off a little darkness on my back,
‘Till things are brighter, I’m the Man In Black.

Good bye Johnny and Thanks…

Apple 1, it’s alive…

Wired has a great article on this guy who is creating a replica of the Apple 1. This is pretty cool, I have an old Apple IIC at my house that I bought at a yard sale. I bought it for about $30 bucks, it came with tons of software and still booted up on the first try. I was having a great time playing around with it, I espically love playing with Logo. It was the best program, it really taught me alot about Geometry . I think I want to get one of these to play around with.

Guinness World Records

If you purchase the lastest copy of the Guinness World Records book for 2004 and turn to page 108, you will see a picture of me. I just found out that the Monopoly board in downtown San Jose, CA has been named the world’s largest Monopoly board. So they place a picture of it in there, and the picture is of me. Back in September of last year I was just let go from E.piphany and had nothing to do. My wife called me up and asked if I wouldn’t mind going down to the park and do some modeling for the photoshoot. I was cool with that. Well, now that photo is in the Guinness Book. Very strange indeed.

B :)
P.S. Here is the image below that they used…
