I am sitting here at work in Pleasanton working on an upgrade for Cisco ICM. The longest part of the installation is the installation and configuration of Windows 2000. Jeff (a fellow ICM guru) and I attended a Cisco ICM user group meeting today and found out that interms of ICM installation we are in the top 10% of companies. This is interms of being up to the latest release. It is amazing out there that there are so many companies using old and outdated technologies. I am really anal about keeping my systems current. There are so many patches and hot fixes available for the product that you would think that you would want your environment to be up to the latest release or at least the most stable. I am already planning on upgrading to the next revision level (Cisco IPCC or Cisco 5.0) in the next couple of months. I am also working on a common set of libraries to allow easier connection on the side of CTI. I have already consolidated the API’s for the interface. This should allow me to create greater CTI application that can integrate with various systems, i.e. CRM, SFA, etc. Well it is time for me to get back to work…
