Davey and I went to MacWorld 2006 in San Francisco yesterday. It was fun over all but kind of a let down. To see the new Apple products was really great. The new Macbook is very snappy and shinny. Same with the iMac. I believe that the new Intel chips are very exciting and I really want one. I really like the stupid little details. In the case of the Macbook (it is very strange to write that) I love the MagSafe plug. What a great idea, it is about time that someone thought about the power plug. I have ruined a couple of laptops by accidently stepping on the cord. I also love the iSight (look I am cool I put a “i” in front) built into the screen bezel.
Now for the part that I was really kind of overwhelmed and sick from. If you were at the show and removed all the iPod accessories the show would be about one quarter the size. Davey and I were couldn’t stop laughing at the amazing amount of iPod cases and accessories. One about 5% were truly useful and the rest were crap.
Overall it was really fun and I am glad that I attended my first MacWorld. I have posted some pictures here on Filckr.
Note: If you are a developer of a product for the Mac, software or hardware, please stop putting the letter “i” in front of everything. It is very tired and old. It seems that everyone is trying to be witty and it was giving me a iHeadache after awhile.

This past weekend Carolyn, Liam and I attended our friend’s Marty and Belinda’s Baby Shower / Birthday. We had a blast. Marty and Belinda are the sweetest people we know. Their son Zachary is a regular playmate of Liam. This was to celebrate the coming of their second child (Andrea) and Belinda’s 30th Birthday. What was great was for the kids they had a gigantic jumpy tent. Liam was in there for hours and I had fun joining them (yes, I was within the weight tolerance).

Previewseek is a new (they are still in beta) search engine. It seems pretty good. I have just started to play around with it and the results are very similar to google. It has a preview feature that is also pretty cool. It displays a quick visual of the site so you can see it before you click it.

Carolyn, Liam and I hope that everyone had a wonderful and prosperous 2006. I am really looking forward to the year at hand. I have a lot of new projects in development and will be making some announcements in a the coming weeks. I have been expanding my scope on my languages and skills. I will be having a new version of the web site coming and two new sites to follow. I really can’t get into the whole plan but it will be life changing and challenging to say the least. The pervious year was one of the best and most interesting. The biggest thing was just the growth and development of my son. It has been extremely rewarding watching him grow and change into a little boy. He is just the most amazing person I have ever met. I love being a Dad. Well more to follow really soon.
