I have been doing a tremendous amount of work with Ruby on Rails lately. I was helping a friend get his environment setup to help me with some of the new project I am working on and stumbled across a great site for setting up Ruby on Rails on a Mac. Building Ruby, Rails, LightTPD, and MySQL on Tiger. The site gives you step by step installation for setting your Mac without compromising your current system Ruby. Apple has also finally placed a good tutorial on their Apple Developer site. I love Ruby. I have been getting ready for the Mashup Camp 2, so I have been busting my hump getting ready to have something to show for it. I should have an Alpha build of my product launch ready in a month or so. I will post the information of the product as soon as it is ready to launch.

I just signed up for MashupCamp 2. I am very excited at the prospect. Davey invited me to attend the meet and greet on the Sunday prior to the first Mashup Camp. I was able to attend a couple of the demo sessions and really enjoyed the enthusiasm in the room. The ideas really are where the Web is heading and narrowing down the concepts to build extraordinary applications. I have looked over the photos of the first Mashup Camp and it is great to see a lot of friends who I respect and admirer. The next revolution is about to begin and I want to be on the birth of it. This is my way to final jump out on my own and do what I want to do. Now it is time to start cracking and have a workable demo ready for my new project. It has been in the alpha phase forever. I really have an insentive to complete the work I have start many months ago. The is feeling I was missing. Energy is abundant. Congratulations to Alex, Scott and Adam for being part of the new revolution and to all the new entrepreneurs who are doing it now.

I have pushed some new photos of Liam onto the blog. It has been awhile since I have done it and I figured it was about time.

I am blogging this right now from my Powerbook connected (via Bluetooth) through my Samsung i730. About 1 month ago I switch carries over from Cingular to Verizon. I was given the opportunity to have a new phone from my boss who no longer wanted the phone. I gave it a shot and I am in love with it. Ok, it is not the most ideal phone, the battery life is can be pretty terrible. I have also heard that the new Treo 700w has the same issue. I guess it is really a trade off of the speed aspect. The phone is going to consume more power for the higher rate of data speed, plus if you don’t monitor you EVDO connection it tries to connect all the time. Also when you get a new phone you want to customize it and try all the new features. Now that the sparkle is gone and it has become my new phone it is quite solid. On my last business trip it came in handy when I did not have an internet connection on site and needed to download a file from work (back in Cupertino). I simply connect and used the phone to dial up and like magic I was downloading. The speed was amazing. I felt like I was connected to a standard DSL. This is a very cool thing. I am very happy and currently satisfied my device. Overall the i730 is a cool phone, I would recommended it to any one. Computer is always a Mac and phone is a Windows. I like the fact they can talk and get along.
