I am blogging this right now from my Powerbook connected (via Bluetooth) through my Samsung i730. About 1 month ago I switch carries over from Cingular to Verizon. I was given the opportunity to have a new phone from my boss who no longer wanted the phone. I gave it a shot and I am in love with it. Ok, it is not the most ideal phone, the battery life is can be pretty terrible. I have also heard that the new Treo 700w has the same issue. I guess it is really a trade off of the speed aspect. The phone is going to consume more power for the higher rate of data speed, plus if you don’t monitor you EVDO connection it tries to connect all the time. Also when you get a new phone you want to customize it and try all the new features. Now that the sparkle is gone and it has become my new phone it is quite solid. On my last business trip it came in handy when I did not have an internet connection on site and needed to download a file from work (back in Cupertino). I simply connect and used the phone to dial up and like magic I was downloading. The speed was amazing. I felt like I was connected to a standard DSL. This is a very cool thing. I am very happy and currently satisfied my device. Overall the i730 is a cool phone, I would recommended it to any one. Computer is always a Mac and phone is a Windows. I like the fact they can talk and get along.

I just upgraded from WordPress 1.5.1 to 2.0.1. It went very smoothly and I just have to adjust my custom theme in the next day or so. At this point I am thinking about a complete site redesign. I will have to look at my schedule. So far the new interface is incredible. Kudos to the WordPress team for delivering another amazing release. They are simply the best in usability. I have been using WordPress since January 2003 and have been happy with every release. Good job.

I am sitting here with Davey at Mashup Camp in Mountain View and it is very eye opening. There is the beginnings of the next renaissance brewing here. I have been sitting through the demos and it is amazing. The future of Web 2.0 (really don’t like the name, Davey likes “New Wave”) is pretty sophisticated and savvy. There are a series of products that will bring the next age to the forefront and others that will wither and die. All the ideas are exciting and the energy is exhilarating. I believe that I have a feeling that I have not felt in a long time. I have been looking for this, it has been a dark time in the valley and has never really gone away. It has just been squelched by the feelings that permeated the valley after the fall. I feel that a rebirth is about to take place and it is the end of the 7 year cycle. While I was there I thought about Feed Lounge. Alex and Scott’s business model. They are the ideal and future business model. The 300 people chosen to attend this event are the best and future for web applications. These are the people who will spark the next revolution in the world and it will be a very exciting time. Time for engineers and investors to peak out there heads and scream to the world, Viva la renaissance.

Carolyn and I upgraded our home entertainment system after about 5 years. What started as a simple “We should go get a LCD or Plasma” has turned into an upgrade of more than that. We first purchased a 32″ ViewSonic HD LCD TV. That progressed into a new Samsung HDMI DVD. We led to the purchase of new DirecTV turn with DVR. Once we had completed our purchases we were left with a mass of remotes. Under Alex’s suggestion I purchases a Logitech Harmony 569 remote. The system is now complete and amazing. I have never owned a DVR and I am so happy. I had to travel home last night and I missed my favorite show (Battlestar Galatcia) and was able to watch it this morning. I am in heaven.

Well, I have replaced the battery on my Powerbook with a new one with more capacity. I am try to calibrate it now and should have a more accurate vision of how long it will actually last. The current time on it is 4:25 at 90% capacity. That sounds pretty damn good. It is nice to have a new main battery and a back up. I just realized that I have blogged in a while. I guess I have been extremely busy with my family and work. I am on my way to Indiana right now. I guess this is a good time as any to catch up on work and blogging. I have new photos of Liam and company. He is getting so big and developing language skills. He is truly amazing to watch, he is my universe. Life is good and I am just happy to be this busy.
