I took this video with my new Verizon VX6700. I really didn’t want to get rid of my Motorola Q phone but I need this one for work. It has some nice features but it is big and bulky. The battery life is kind of crappy but it is really not that bad. To get it working better I had to do some hacks but it can now last at least the day. Well here is a little video of my big guy Liam and my beautiful wife Carolyn.

I have been planning around with the Nokia N800 Internet Tablet for about 12 hours and it a pretty cool device. Yet, it lacks a great many features that would make it a useful device. I will start with the good stuff. Really amazing web browsing using Opera, great battery life and speed, built in RSS reader, built in Camera (ok quality) for Google chat and voice, lite weight and feels good,Bluetooth and WiFi, good mail(solid IMAP) lastly just very solid in OS and feel. Now the bad. No built in PIM (No Calendar, No To-Do, No Notes) by default. You can download GPE PIM and works great. Well, now that you have downloaded a PIM there is now way to sync. This is not a business device. The person who would use this would be for more personal communication and web surfing. This is designed for some who live in a big city (like NYC or London) who has a myriad of WiFi hot spots available and does not want to carry a laptop. If I didn’t need the PIM functionality it would a great system to have but at $400 bucks it is a little steep. It will be going back to Fry’s after I do some product testing. I guess i will stick with my MacBook with the USB270 Wlan modem.

I am a big fan of the band Boston. To hear of the passing of Brad Delp, the singer of Boston deeply saddens me. He lived in New Hampshire, like I did and I personally knew him in the mid-90′s. During college I was the manager of a record store called Strawberries in Salem, New Hampshire. Brad was of my customers, he and I would sit around an play music over the system and talk about it. I would find new exciting music for him and he would let me listen to his latest projects. On a rate occasion he and I would site around and we would play guitars and sing songs together. Usually some CCR or Bob Dylan, he would do a majority of the singing. He was a great guy, just an average Joe with the voice of an angel. He was a guy you could have a beer with and knew every song. Brad you will be missed and thank you for sharing your gift with the world
