17 inch MacBook Pro Goodness, originally uploaded by Bill Manning.

So I upgraded at work to a 17 inch MacBook Pro and it is really big but good. I will admit that I am really enjoying the extra screen real estate and the extra (though just noticeable) power. It is a really nice machine and has pretty cool little feature like the variable back-lit keyboard. On the downside, it barely fits in my bag and I am not the tallest guy (actually I am pretty short) so it looks even bigger. I just have say that the screen is great just because I work on a couple of things at once. Oh, I have to couple that with the 30 inch Cinema display at work and I have no issues now. I forgot to mention the Cinema display.

Update: Oh, one more cool thing.. I used the Apple Migration Assistant for the first time. I was really cool.. It took me all of 1 hour and 30 minutes (or so) to transfer everything off my Macbook, one reboot and it was just like home.

Kurt Vonnegut (1922-2007) is one of my favorite authors. It is sad to see him go. My favorite collection of short stories was from him and I highly recommend it: Welcome to the Monkey House
This is the collection with two great stories in-particular: Harrison Bergeron and Welcome to the Monkey House. Not only to mention all the other amazing works that he created: Slaughterhouse-Five, Cat’s Cradle, Breakfast of Champions, etc
