• Ok, it is 4AM and we are still working on QuickTime issues. I am going insane, I need to get some sleep soon. #
• It is 4:30am and time to go home. We are stuck on a QT bug and have to wait for the developer. I need sleep. #
• Sitting in my weekly engineering meeting. I am super tired and need to go home. Not until we release to QA for Alpha testing. What’s next.. #

So, it has taken be a couple of days to get back to writing this post.  I have been involved in a couple of project which have pretty much kept me busy.  I have declared feed bankruptcy numerous times in the past couple of days. I have also changed over my main machine from my MacBook to my Lenovo X41 Tablet PC running Vista. I needed a change of pace and I also need to use it for something very specific that I am working. I will most likely go back to my MacBook very soon but I am having fun with a Tablet PC.  What is next in my story….

Part 2: Sync City

My current setup which I need to sync is a couple of different machine and devices.

• 17" MacBook Pro
• Black MacBook
• Mac Mini (G4)
• Lenovo X41 Tablet PC w/ Vista
• Apple iPhone
• BlackBerry Curve (Testing: TMobile @Home)

Having all of these machine I use a couple of different programs to keep all my Contacts, Calendar, Mail, Files and Task synced.  This has allowed me to keep my sanity for all the running around I do and all the data I need access to in any given moment.  This has also allowed me to have a great backup system for everything.  The services and programs I use are as follows:

• Plaxo for my Calendar and Contacts

• Sync everything on Mac, PC and Web

• Mac, PC, Web and iPhone client

• FeedBurner (PC), NetNewsWire (iPhone & Mac) and Web

• Mac, PC and iPhone (OTA)

• Mac and PC Client

• Mac sync for backup, Mac has all my Music and Photos

• Backing up the Mac

• Mac and PC client

This has been a pretty solid solution for keeping my information pretty solid for a long time.  I have all my data sync and recursively stored.  It also allows me have access to all my files and content everywhere: either via web interface or client on the machine I am using.  A perfect example on my setup was what I did tonight and for the past couple of days.

I have been developing a product which I have to use my X41 for development (there is a very specific reason I can’t talk about) but I need to use my MacBook Pro for the graphics that I needed.  I simply created the images and saved them to my DropBox on the MacBook.  Within second those files were available on my X41 for testing and checking into the build machine. It made the process that much easier for me to do it.  It was great since I didn’t have to play with trying to map network drives or any other funkiness.

Again this proved to be an invaluable service to me and made my life a better place.
