So, 2009 is here! There are a lot of things that I have on tap as of now. There are things with my family, things with work and planning for the future. I am going to try and be more vigilant with writing to my blog more than I have in the past 8 months. I have noticed that my blog has been neglected other than the occasional update about a product or push from the RSS reader. This has been because of microblogging sites like Twitter and Facebook. It is time to get myself back in gear to start writing again and get my thoughts out. I am very excited by the thoughts of the administration that is about to take office and I have a lot of hope for it. I am working to make my statement and my pledge to do my part in writing and taking the time to do so. I started this blog over 7 years ago and I am trying to get back to it. It has been a year now since Corbin has joined us in our family and it has been hard but I want to get it back.

Things to look forward to:

• Android development
• iPhone applications – started my first one and I think it is a winner. Something that I would use everyday, 1 month until alpha and submittal to iTunes.
• GWT development – I have become a big fan of GWT and built many web apps now with it.
• Learning how to use my DSLR better. I am slowing (I just don’t have the time) learning how to use it.
• More biking – I plan on competing in at least 5 events this year, all at least 100K.
• More adventure time with the family and trips.

I hope this year is promising as I hope it to be and that I will grow and expand as a person through it.

So these little P-series things are looking kind of weird, and kind of hot. I’m being pulled in two different directions. The screen aspect ratio is ridiculous: at 8″ and 1600×768 it’s just over 2:1, which is… pretty freakin wide.

They may be tiny, but they’ve got guts: they’ll run Vista (barely, with a 1.33GHz Atom) and they’ve got GPS built-in, but it looks like you’re paying for the featherlight 1.4lb curb weight and tiny form factor with battery life. It boasts a mighty four hours of battery unless you get the battery add-on. It’ll have a 128GB flash hard drive and 2GB of RAM. That’s actually looking like kind of a bargain, which I think we can all agree is rare from Sony. Maybe it isn’t. Maybe instead of “world’s lightest 8-inch laptop” they should have announced it’s the “world’s weakest $900 laptop.”
