Launchy for Windows
Posted on May 9th, 2006 | by William Manning |I am a Mac user. I use a Powerbook (hoping to purchase a MacBook Pro very soon) at work. I have a Mac Mini, which is hosting this site. A lot of people I work with are very envious of my favorite and most useful program, LaunchBar (thanks, alex). Now there is something pretty damn close for Windows, Launchy. It amazing to see other people take some of the coolest applications for the Mac and turn them into windows. Lately I have been really disappointed with the speed of my Mac. For standard application my Powerbook is pretty snappy but for the Java coding I do it is terrible. I am really starting to feel the lack of speed is causing much frustration and delays. I have been considering purchasing a new Acer Dual Core powered laptop for work since the speed is amazing and I can purchase two of them for the price of MacBook Pro with almost the same specs. Well, that is another story but I have some screenshots below.
